  • Book it.

    Whether you’ve worked with me before, or your new here, you’re ready for a session. Think about what you want out of your session. Do you want me to capture your family at their favourite place or one of our very picturesque locals here in NS? Are you expecting a little one and want me to document a time during the newborn phase of life? See below for the most common sessions that I offer, but if you don’t see something that fits your needs, please reach out! Once you know what you want, you can book our time together online (below) or feel free to contact me anytime, especially if you do not see a date available for when you were hoping for. (For newborn sessions, please see the newborn blurb below for all the info!). I require a non-refundable* retainer to secure our date together.

  • Live it.

    Our date is set in stone and now it’s time to prepare for your session! I will provide you with what’s called a client portal. This will include an updated invoice, a style guide, questionnaire and contract. Please make sure everything is filled out by our big day! With full sessions, you have full access to my client wardrobe, which can be viewed here: . If any items are of interest, feel free to contact me to arrange a time to try things on or I can bring a bunch with me to our session!

    Please leave Pinterest at home. I do not stop during our session to look down and overanalyze what to do next. I like to move completely naturally from one scene to another and very often let the kids (if there are any) guide me! I feed off the moment and love to just have fun and not force anything. If you really have your heart set on an image, please let me know in the questionnaire! I’ll naturally work it into our time together.

    Leave all your worries behind and focus on the moment <3. This makes for the best session. I make sure to provide you with a guide package on what to expect and how to make the best of our time together.

  • Relive it.

    Turnaround for your gallery can take approximately 4 weeks depending on the season. I carefully edit the session and cull my very favourite images (which is always more than promised!). I want you to open up the gallery and laugh and cry along with me. Your gallery will fill you with all the feels! For full sessions, all of the images that I choose to edit in full are yours to keep and download. Printing rights are included and you are free to print through my online shop or elsewhere.

What Session Fits You Best?

I offer a lot of different sessions, so here are some examples of what kind of magic I can create for you! Whether it’s in your home, outdoors, on-location or in my portrait or lifestyle studio, I’m sure we would make a great fit!

  • Typically held at-home or on-location. We are so lucky to live in Nova Scotia with the BEST backdrops. Some favourites are one of the local beaches, parks or trails. I love going somewhere sentimental that means a lot to your and your loved ones, even if that is your very own home or backyard! In-home sessions can provide a super cozy and loving vibe whereas the outdoors can provide some beautiful scenery and well as some open space for me to run lovingly after those littles! These sessions include up to 5 people from the same family (see below for larger family sessions!). I aim to capture everyones personalities and all the emotions. I live for giggles and want to focus on you and your loved ones having fun together and enjoying each others company. We do a couple of posed images, but I mostly direct you through the session and let natural interactions shine through.

  • Much like regular Family Sessions, I aim to capture the love between everyone. We typically get a few more posed images since I’m sure it’s not very often you have your extended family in professional photos! We still make sure to have lots of fun as well. Over 5 persons, there is a fee of $25 plus hst per person.

  • Maternity Sessions are typically done when you are around 32-36 weeks before things really get uncomfortable! Sessions can include just yourself, with a partner or with your other kiddies and include some family images as well! You will have access to my full client wardrobe so don’t sweat about not having anything that will fit!

  • My style of newborn session is very unique to me. It is probably my favourite session of all! I capture newborns in a lifestyle setting. There are no backdrops or props typically, just baby, some swaddling and relaxed posing using the baby’s own weight. I also highly encourage parents and siblings (if applicable) to be involved so that we can still get lots of cuddly images of the baby in their favourite spot - your arms. Lifestyle newborn sessions are very unique to the photographer (me!), so I highly recommend you check out my newborn work here. Sessions can be done in my lifestyle studio, in your home or even outdoors if the weather is just perfect!

 FAQs

  • Yes, I require a non-refundable retainer of $50 to secure our time together due at the time of booking. See next questions on whether sessions can be transferred.

  • In extreme weather cases (see below) we can reschedule, no problem at all! I also allow for one reschedule due to illness, or really anything that life happens to throw at you. I get it!

  • We live in Nova Scotia where the weather is completely unpredictable. I do not usually reschedule for chances of spitting rain or a little bit of wind (trust me, wind is FUN and provides so much dynamic to a session - as well as fog!), but I will lean towards rescheduling if the chances of full blown rain are high or temperatures are dangerously low. We typically wait until the day of our session to decide just because the weather is ever changing here in the maritimes!

  • Typically around 45-60 minutes in length. I do not time sessions, however. I let them gracefully happen and this is just the average that I’ve stumbled on over the past decade. I find little ones typically loose their steam around 45 minutes, but some keep going and I like to keep documenting! Newborn sessions, however, vary in length big time! Some take and hour, some take 2. I make sure I get all of the images that make me feel confident about giving you a full beautiful gallery.
